Hardeep Singh KohliA local from Hillhead and law graduate of the university, Hardeep is a learned – and likeable – guy. As a dedicated and fun-loving student he was involved with the student media, theatre, debating and plenty of banter in the unions.

He went on to work for the BBC and now is known for comedy, making documentaries and appearing on programmes like Question Time and Newsnight. His weekly column in the Scotland on Sunday is a witty commentary on life and politics, with insights on everything from opposing the Iraq War to the difficulties of recycling.

A vote for Hardeep is a vote for a Rector who knows Glasgow, will work tirelessly for its students and has the public profile to make a difference on our behalf.

The election will take place online on 26th/27th February 2008.

Celebrity Masterchef finalist, commentator and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli has highlighted the desire for a greater choice of low-priced food on campus. The West End has been a melting pot for numerous cultures, with cuisine being a prominent aspect of this. This further highlights concerns of students, many of whom consider the choice of food on campus to be narrow, especially those with special dietary requirements or who choose not to eat certain foods for ethical reasons.
